Bojana Mladenović appointed new artistic director of SNDO

The directorate of de Theaterschool of the Amsterdam School of the Arts has appointed Bojana Mladenović as the new artistic director of the SNDO - School for New Dance Development as of 1 September 2014. Bojana Mladenović is now  director of Het Veem Theater in Amsterdam. The coming months Bojana will perform both functions.

In 2006, Bojana moved to Amsterdam to pursue the post-graduate theatre education DasArts (currently Master of Theatre at de Theaterschool).

Leading Het Veem Theater since 2010, Bojana created a house whose uniqueness lies in combining the clear artistic profile of an art house with a workplace exploratory environment while also acting as an impresario for the associate artist’s international co-productions and touring.

Before starting at Het Veem Theater in 2010, Bojana created her own performances and collaborated with artists such as Nicole Beutler and Ivana Müller, both SNDO alumni.

Next to her work, she was regularly engaged with different departments of de Theaterschool in Amsterdam as a member of selection or advising committees. She sees her new position at the SNDO as a logical step in the direction of bringing new artistic propositions and artists into the field.

Jan Zoet, director de Theaterschool: ‘Bojana brings to the SNDO the qualities of an ardent artistic director with a lot of experience as a choreographer, producer and curator in the international and interdisciplinary realm of dance and live art.'
